Red Desert Sod has been providing the best quality sod in Utah for three generations. Our Grandpa, Warren, first planted a small sod farm located in Richfield, Utah in 1978. Warren and his sons sold grass blends throughout all of Utah. In 2009 the St George farm opened to serve Southern Utah, Arizona and Nevada better. In 2013 Jay moved here and restructured as Red Desert Sod to share our late Grandpa's legacy of hard-work with his growing family. Today, we work hard as a family to provide you with the greenest drought-tolerant sod types in Utah. Grass grown in sand is ideal. It drains quickly preventing problems like fungus or root rot. Grass in clay soils cause problems. Sandy soils enhance root growth and allows drought tolerant grasses to flourish. Its lighter to carry and easier to clean up. This is why we grow our grass in the sand of Sand Hollow. We are the only sod farm in Utah to grow grass in this coveted soil and water conditions. Don't settle for grass grown in the wrong soil type. 

Always use sand for top soil in prepping for new sod.
